Mobile, Ala. native Cale Gale enters his fourth year of Nationwide Series racing as he returns to the driver's seat of the No. 33 Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) Chevrolet in 2009. Gale will share driving duties with team co-owner Kevin Harvick, three-time Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday, 2008 Daytona 500 winner Ryan Newman and two-time Sprint Cup Series champion Tony Stewart.

The 24-year-old racer showed promise from the start of his racing career, earning championships in both super-stock and late model racing at Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway. Gale's racing career began at the age of four when his father placed him into a go-kart and he won the first race he entered. One year later, Gale found himself in victory lane five times as he began to race competitively at Mobile Motorsports Park in Kushla, Alabama. The following season, Gale was victorious in 25 feature races and took home the track championship.

Gale has been a true champion throughout his young racing career and hopes that he will be able to carry his success to KHI as he races in the Nationwide Series. In 2006, Gale competed in four Nationwide Series and three Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) races, winning at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill. in just his second ARCA start on July 28, 2006.

Following his ARCA win at Gateway, Gale got his first taste of KHI when he competed in a Nationwide Series race at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park at the end of the 2006 season. He qualified a respectable 15th and had an impressive day. The race was slowed by 15 caution flags and Gale was involved in two of them, both times because of another competitor. The young driver never gave up and continued to battle for positions all day long, before finishing the day in the 25th position.

"I'm just thankful to have an opportunity to race in equipment that I know is competitive and capable of going out every week and contending for wins," said Gale. "Every time I get in the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet, I look to learn more and improve behind the wheel."

In 2007, Gale participated in the Nationwide, Truck and ARCA Series for KHI. He shared seat time with team co-owner Harvick and Clint Bowyer in the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado as teammate to 2007 Truck Series champion Ron Hornaday and the No. 33 Chevrolet Silverado team in the Truck Series. He scored his best finish in the Truck Series at the World's Fastest Half-Mile, Bristol (Tenn.) Motor Speedway, where in his first start at the track scored a ninth-place finish. On the Nationwide side, Gale shared driving duties with Harvick, Stewart, Tony Raines and Ron Fellows. His best finish came at Kansas Speedway where he finished 13th.

Entering the 2008 season, Gale was poised for another great year and joined Harvick, Hornaday and Ryan Newman in the driver seat of the No. 33 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for 10 races and piloted the No. 77 Chevrolet Monte Carlo for three races in the Nationwide Series. Competing for Raybestos Rookie of the Year honors, Gale scored his first career pole (Bristol Motor Speedway), earned his career-best finish (fourth place at Bristol Motor Speedway) and earned three top-ten finishes. In addition, he scored top Raybestos Rookie of the Race in seven of his 13 starts.

"Last year was a great year in my racing career," said Gale. "I had great teammates in Kevin (Harvick) and Ron (Hornaday). I could go to them at any time for advice on how to get around tracks and from their experiences, I was able to learn and grow as a driver. I am looking forward to getting back behind the wheel of the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet in 2009 and continuing to improve on and off the race track."

Off the track, Gale is involved in racing in every aspect. He can be found building shocks for the KHI truck teams and participating in media activities.

"I was really impressed with Cale's racing background, his knowledge of race cars and what he has accomplished so far in his career," said KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick. "His drive and determination are two of the qualities that DeLana and I recognized from the beginning. He has that winning attitude and that's what we want at KHI. He worked hard the last few years and 2009 should be no different."
